We are planning an epic daylong celebration with our friends and family at Laurel Lavender Farm in Ferndale, WA.
More details to come, but plan on spending the day and evening with us. There will be drinks, day long snacks, an amazing catered meal, games, farm animals, bonfire, and so much more as we make our wedding official.
Meet The Bride
I'm Debbie and Whatcom County has been my lifelong home. The greatest blessings in my life are my two sons, Derek and Derron and this past October, I had the joy of welcoming my first grandchild, Cora Jane, and I’m incredibly grateful for my wonderful daughter-in-law, Marissa.
In July, I experienced the deep sorrow of losing my beloved mother—a loss that has been one of the most difficult journeys of my life. Yet, through that heartache, I found strength and was reminded to celebrate even the smallest of things. In January, I embraced a new chapter and fulfilled a longtime dream by opening my own bookkeeping and accounting office.
Justin is my person. He makes me laugh. He makes me feel important every day. And most importantly, he makes me feel safe. As I celebrate this next milestone, surrounded by love, family, and friends, I carry with me the memories of the past, the pride in my family, and excitement for the future.
Our Story
We first crossed paths while working at Bellewood Acres in 2016, where a genuine friendship quickly blossomed. We had some amazing adventures together, but kept it casual while we each found our way.
Justin was a single parent for several years, and as the kids grew up he felt the need to see the world. Wherever he went, he kept calling Debbie and she was always supportive of his dreams.
Debbie embarked on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment following a long first marriage. Our relationship unfolded naturally and at its own pace, rooted in mutual respect, unwavering support, and a shared sense of humor that continues to bring us joy. We've grown closer in the last couple years, and the time is ripe to take another step together.
Today, we are grateful for the love we’ve found in one another and honored to share this meaningful chapter of our lives with you. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the beginning of our next adventure—together.
Meet The Groom
I'm Justin. I was raised in Ferndale, Washington and made my adult life here. I'm a parent, a chef, a writer, a trivia afficionado and generally a pretty chill guy. I'm also overly cautious sometimes, and don't make big decisions lightly. That means once I pick something, I stick with it.
I've been cooking in restaurants and banquets for decades and have two grown children. Joey (with her husband Nic) and Raye live nearby and have given their encouragement to include Debbie in our family. Until recently I wasn't ready to get married, but I've been to some far-off places these last few years and realized that there's nowhere I'd rather be than next to her.
It took a lot of foundation work, but we've built trust over time and I'm ready to keep taking the next steps with my Debbie, my bride. She gets my jokes, and making her laugh is the best part of my day. It's time to have a party, and tell all my friends that we are here to stay.
